The most important characters in mango shaped space are:

• Mia Winchell-  The main character of the book, Mia is keeping a big secret- numbers, words, and sounds, appear to her in a special color, Mia have Synesthesia, which means "mingling of the senses."
• Mango- Mia's cat, had founded next to Mia's grandfather grave, and have the same eyes as her grandpa had, Mia think part of  Grandpa soul is still at Mango.
• Zack Winchell-  Mia's younger brother, he believe in many strange superstitions, and have a McDonald  chart of how many happy meals with burger he ate in his whole life.
• Beth Winchell-  Mia's older sister, she colors her hair every week with different colors, have many candles in her room, and might be a witch.
• Jena - Mia's BFF, Jena and Mia love to do PIC missions (partners in crime) which they cover each other while making jokes or snicking after someone. Jena's mom died when Jenna was a few years old, and before she died, she gave Mia's mom, all the birthday present for Jena's life. 
• Jerry- A Synesthesia professor at the University of Chicago.
• Billy Henkle- A 5 years old kid who live in Mia's neighborhood, Mia met him at the market.Billy also have synesthesia but his parent thinks his crazy.
